Aberdeen is a 30 minute drive, the City centre and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary are 35 - 40 minutes and the Airport, 25 minutes. The new bypass has facilitated less city traffic and faster commute times. Glasgow is a 3 hour drive and Edinburgh 2 1/2 hours. Day trips to Aviemore for hiking and skiing are possible.
