Discover the Finest Beaches in Marbella

Marbella is renowned for being a glamorous spot for the rich and famous, enticing visitors from all over the world who are seduced by the luxurious lifestyle. Thousands descend upon the old town with its narrow cobbled streets lined with delightful shops and individual boutiques, as well as the famous orange tree-filled Plaza de los Naranjos which is just a short walk from the main street. The region is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, many of which can be enjoyed all year round. There is a total of 23 beaches, stretching out across 27km of coastline. Below, we’ve listed seven of our favourites that are near to our Marbella property for sale.

Bounty Beach

This gorgeous stretch of golden sands is a vibrant spot, popular with both young and old alike. For a relaxed day at the beach with a good book and no shortage of Costa del Sol sun, look no further than Bounty Beach. The relaxed atmosphere is contagious, and a vast array of shops, cafes and eateries that are nearby are reasonably priced. This bay is located close to the lively streets of the town, perfect if you’re residing in a central location.

Tarifa Beach

Head slightly further afield with a trip to Tarifa, which is about an hour west of Marbella. The beach is located on the Costa de la Luz, on the straits of Gibraltar, and makes for a fantastic day out for the whole family, regardless of where you are staying. Wide, white sandy beaches and the refreshing breeze of the Mistral makes it the destination of choice for many on warmer days.

Playa de Rio Real Beach

Another beach, not far from the centre of Marbella, which offers beautiful surroundings and forms a part of the 2km beach known as Los Monteros. Perfect for the more adventurous amongst us, this beach is home to Marbella’s only windsurf club, where you can rent boards or have lessons, depending on your ability. A short walk down the beach and a whole array of water-based activities are on offer, including banana boat rides and jet skis. This beach borders one of the most popular golf courses in Marbella, making it the ideal spot to relax while some of your party play a round of golf.

La Rada Beach

A little way down the coast sits this 2 and a half kilometre beach in Estepona. The beach itself consists of fine grey sand, whilst the sea is lifeguarded, and a swim can be a refreshing way to cool down. The lengthy promenade is popular with both visitors and locals alike and is a lively place to be, come day or night. There are various street food vendors, and you cannot leave without sampling the typical paella or famous sardine espetos. There are opportunities to rent hammocks, so you can order a cold tipple from one of the beach bars before indulging yourself in a relaxing experience.

Hermosa Beach

15 minutes away from Marbella sits Hermosa, a small and sheltered bay, that offers an extension of Costabella Beach. The water here is renowned for being clean and very shallow, making it the ultimate family-friendly option for those travelling with younger children. There are plenty of amenities close by, including canoes and pedalo’s available to rent. A great place to stay for dinner, and sample some of the finest cuisines on the coast at Poco Loco restaurant where on Wednesday’s, they host a Greek night.

Punta Paloma

Punta Paloma is an unspoilt vision of paradise, located north of Tarifa. Unlike the others, amenities are few and far between at this bay, adding to the sense of adventure that comes from a day spent here. Dunes that rise over 100m tower dramatically above the surrounding landscapes, offering visitors unparalleled views of the coast and the Strait looking out towards Morocco. Again, this is another great option for families, as kids will tire themselves out running up and down the dunes while mum and dad can enjoy a cold beverage and the panoramic views from the top.

Nikki Beach

One of the most exclusive beaches on the continent, Nikki Beach is renowned for hosting the rich and famous. The beautiful beach is rocky, and the clear waters make this location an appealing paradise. A day out to this world-famous beach is highly recommended to fully appreciate the fabulous beauty on offer on the Costa del Sol.
