Ancient family run shops such as butchers, bakers and various alimentari can be found inside the walls of the town, whilst larger supermarkets and various other stores are located in the suburbs. San Casciano offers everything one may need as well as a good selection of restaurants and trattoria, however Florence is so close it is also a viable alternative for shopping and evening's out. The principle highway connection Florence with Siena is around a 5 minute drive, meaning the majority of the 15/20min drive into central Florence is all highway.
